Built for Bad Weather
The outer shell of the chest pack is constructed of mil-spec 500D Cordura. This is a Berry Compliant, made in the USA, durable fabric with a DWR (durable Water Repellent) finish.
Three Ways to Run It
The Angler System comes with an H-Harness, a Hip Belt, and Wader Connectors. The H-Harness is built with Squadron B52 Cordura and mil-spec elastic. It is lightweight, thin, and has air flow with our laser-cut Hexair pattern. ITW QASM buckles attach to side-lock buckles found at the top of the chest pack. A net catch loop is located on the back of the harness.
Informed by Experience
We didn't throw a dart at a board of outdoor sports and watch it hit "fly fishing". To the contrary, Paul Laemmlen, the founder and creator of StealthGearUSA holsters, was somewhat reluctant to embark on this project. A fly fisherman for over 50 years, for Paul, fly fishing was his time away from his work on holsters. But there were a few things we found in our packs that we wished were different. Ever the innovator, Paul started designing a pack (that grew into a system) that addressed those issues.
One of the key things we wanted to address was a way to carry concealed while wearing waders. While there are instances where open carry is ideal (fishing in bear country or just out deep in the backcountry) we found there were more times when we were just fishing local water and wanted the benefits that concealed carry provides. One of the chief reasons the main compartment is entirely lined with Velcro loop is so that it can accommodate the SG-Fieldcore Pack Holster. The Pack Holster has a minimal platform with a Velcro-hook backing, to which a Kydex shell is mounted. Just like our Ventcore and SG-Ultralite holsters, the Pack Holster features a shell that is specifically designed and molded for a specific firearm.
